Cub Clubs (f/k/a After School Clubs)

- Plan, organize, and publicize after school clubs. Secure highly effective teachers for after school classes. Be on-site during classes to assure smooth operation.
Art Fair
- Leticia Atkinson & Morgan Ernesti
- Coordinate with art teacher to mount student art displays for this annual family event. Student art will be displayed throughout the school for friends and family to view during an evening meal with the Waffleman or other food vendors/trucks!
- Coordinates many volunteers to help support the event, including mounting and hanging art, organizes volunteers for cleaning/wiping tables.
Book Fair
- Heather Triggs, Lyndie Nader, Marty Nader
- The twice annual Scholastic Book Fair coincides with fall and spring Parent Teacher Conferences and/or Art Night. This popular event helps grow and expand the Kloefkorn Media Center and provides many volunteer opportunities, including volunteering with sales and set up/take down. If you love books and helping put "just the right" books into the hands of kids, this is the perfect committee for you!
By-Laws

- This group works with the Principal and PTO Board to update PTO By-Laws. They meet early on in the school year and may be asked to meet throughout the year to revise or review issues that may arise.
Dine Outs/Food Trucks
- Morgan Ernesti
- Organize a food truck to come to our school for a family night. Typically 5-7 pm. Coordinate to make sure the food truck has insurance for LPS property.
Directory and Membership
- Leticia Atkinson
- This committee works with the school Registrar to organize, create, and distribute student directories. Typically this is done in the second quarter of school.
Environment

- If you have a green thumb or an eye for design, this committee may be for you. Help us honor our namesake Bill Kloefkorn and create a warm, welcoming, beautiful environment, inside and outside the school building, for students, staff, and families to learn and grow.
Earth Day/Sustainability
- Tiffany Geis & Shelly Longoria
- Organize and coordinate a family event to help spread mulch around our school, plan activities relating to Earth Day and coordinate volunteers to support activities, such as a chalk station, bubbles, Earth day crafts, and organization of food trucks.
- Work on sustainability efforts for the school and help coordinate partnerships with the community to support sustainability efforts.
Fifth Grade Social

- Work with 5th grade teachers on helping to organize snacks and t-shirts for annual field trip to The Omaha Zoo and Saltdogs Game.
Fun Night (NOT ON CALENDAR FOR 2025-2026 YEAR)

- This popular family event involves planning meetings at the beginning of each school year and has many volunteer opportunities, including organizing volunteers, working with vendors, publishing of the event, manning game stations, and much more. Past events have been pirate night, carnival night and a hoedown. The more the merrier for this committee, please consider volunteering your time for this important event.
- The Silent Auction occurs during fun night and involves planning meetings at the beginning of each school year, along with assembling baskets prior to the event. This sub-committee establishes basket themes, puts the baskets together, coordinates donations and description sheets, and has oversight of the baskets the night of the event.
Fundraising/Walkathon
- Lyndie Nader
- A PTO's ability to support the school is directly tied to fundraising events and activities. This essential committee researches and recommends fundraising events and submits to the PTO Board for approval. They oversee execution of approved fundraisers, organize and publicize fundraising campaigns, collect money and oversee orders and distribution.
- Develop theme, prizes, communication for annual walkathon fundraiser. Communicate prize winners with principal, coordinate prize pick up, donation levels, etc. Coordinate DJ for actual walkathon event during specials time.
Hospitality
- Jenn Prokop
- Parent volunteers provide meals for staff during teacher conferences, recognize staff on special appreciation days, and provide treats for staff on various occasions throughout the school year.
Movie Night
- Stephanie Christolear
- Plan and coordinate these fun family events throughout the year, including movie selection, communication and operating the snack station during the events.
Picture Day
- Melissa Klinzman & Lyndie Nader
- Coordinate with a photographer and oversee volunteers during the student picture day in the fall. Individual photos are taken in September, with retakes in October. This committee prepares ordering envelopes, enlist volunteers, organize students for a smooth running picture day, and distribute pictures.
Playground

- Coordinate with faculty, administration, and architectural designers on the playground enhancement project. Plan fundraising initiatives and oversee the implementation of designs.
Safety

- Participate with Kloefkorn staff as a member of the safety committee. Examine and review all procedures and practices as they relate to student safety.
School Celebrations

- Meet early in the school year to organize, coordinate and communicate with room parents for each classroom. Plan twice-annual class parties, typically around Thanksgiving and Valentine’s Day, along with other school-wide celebrations.
Science Fair

- Work with staff to organize the annual Science Fair. Coordinate volunteers to assist in set up/tear down. Provide meals, if decided upon.
Spirit Wear
- Allison Vega
- Let your Kloefkorn pride shine! This committee develops, distributes and sales Kloefkorn themed t-shirts, hats, and sweatshirts multiple times throughout the school year. They organize and submit orders, and coordinate distribution so all Cubs can show off their Kloefkorn pride. If you are creative and enjoy design, this may be your opportunity to have fun while sharing your talents.
Technology/Website

- Support the PTO’s activities by recommending and implementing technology solutions and maintaining the website.
Yearbook

- This wonderful committee takes and collects pictures throughout the school year for the yearbook. They organize group pictures (orchestra/band, clubs, recess, field trips, parties, etc.), collect orders and work with vendors to create the annual school yearbook.
